When something in your relationship doesn’t feel settled.
Maybe trust has changed. Communication keeps going sideways. You’re questioning what you need, what you should say, or what happens if the relationship doesn’t move in the direction you hoped.
You don’t have to know what you want to do before you have somewhere to talk about it.
Get StartedCan I go to therapy by myself to talk about my marriage?
Yes. Individual therapy can be a place to work through how your marriage or another important relationship is affecting you, even when the other person is not participating in therapy.
We can look at communication, trust, boundaries, conflict, anxiety, self-esteem, and the decisions you are trying to make. The focus stays on your experience and the parts of the situation you can influence.
You do not have to arrive ready to stay, leave, forgive, confront, or make a major decision. Sometimes the first job is getting clear enough to hear yourself think.
You keep trying to figure out the relationship while you’re still inside it.
That can make it difficult to know what is yours, what belongs to the other person, and what you actually need.
You rehearse what you want to say, then don’t say it.
You question whether you’re asking for too much.
You want better communication but aren’t sure how to get there.
Trust has been affected and you don’t know what rebuilding it would require.
You’re worried about what happens if nothing changes.
You want to feel secure in yourself regardless of what happens next.
What if I need to say something I’ve been avoiding?
Knowing what you want to say and being able to say it are not always the same thing.
Anxiety, guilt, fear of conflict, people-pleasing, or uncertainty about the other person’s response can make an important conversation feel much harder than it looks from the outside.
Therapy can help you get clearer about what you want to communicate, what boundary may be needed, and how to tolerate the discomfort that can come with speaking more honestly.
The relationship matters. So does the person you are inside it.
Our work is not about deciding who is right. It is about helping you understand your own patterns, needs, choices, and responses more clearly.
Communication
Finding language for what you need to say and noticing the patterns that make conversations harder.
Boundaries
Getting clearer about what is yours to manage, what is not, and where a limit may need to exist.
Trust & self-trust
Working through what has affected trust while strengthening confidence in your own judgment and decisions.
When the relationship is part of why you’re searching for therapy.
Is this couples counseling?
No. This page describes individual therapy. The focus is on you, your experience, your mental health, and the changes or decisions that are within your control.
What if I don’t know whether I want to stay in my marriage?
You do not need to decide before starting therapy. Therapy can give you space to process what is happening, understand what matters to you, and think more clearly about your options without being pushed toward a particular outcome.
Can relationship problems make anxiety worse?
They can. Uncertainty, conflict, changes in trust, and repeated difficult interactions can contribute to worry, overthinking, physical tension, trouble concentrating, and difficulty being present elsewhere in your life.
Can we work on confidence and independence too?
Yes. Relationship stress can expose questions about self-esteem, independence, identity, and self-trust. Those concerns can be part of individual therapy even when the relationship was what initially brought you in.
You can talk it through without spending every session going in circles.
I’m an active therapist. I’ll listen to what is happening, ask questions, and help you notice patterns that may be difficult to see when you are in the middle of them.
We may work on communication, coping strategies, anxious thinking, boundaries, self-esteem, emotional responses, or the beliefs that are making a difficult situation even harder.
The goal is not for me to make your decisions. It is for you to become clearer and more confident in making your own.
